PIV Ventilation
One quiet unit in the loft, gently moving fresh, filtered air through the whole house. A PIV can significantly reduce excess humidity, window condensation and associated mould where inadequate ventilation is a contributing factor, from about 1p a day to run.

The moisture facts
The moisture an average family makes indoors every day.

Typical running cost of a PIV unit.
Industry estimates. Running cost depends on your electricity tariff and the unit fitted.
How PIV works.
No damp proofing, no upheaval. Where inadequate ventilation is contributing to condensation, PIV can help address the underlying excess humidity.
-
A single unit sits in your loft.
One compact unit is fitted in the loft, quiet and out of sight, drawing on the air in the roof space.
-
It filters and gently pushes fresh air in.
The unit filters that air and feeds it in slowly through a ceiling diffuser on the landing, lifting the whole house to a gentle positive pressure.
-
Damp, stale air is pushed out.
That gentle pressure moves moist, stale air out through the small gaps every home has, so condensation, streaming windows and musty smells clear.

What it costs to run.
A PIV unit runs continuously on a low-wattage fan, so it costs very little, from about 1p a day. Set against redecorating mouldy walls, or heating air that is damp and hard to warm, it is a small daily cost for a house that stays dry.
We will confirm the right unit and the likely running cost for your home when we inspect. Any survey fee is confirmed before an appointment is arranged.
