Ainsdale takes the coast head on. Between the dunes and the village, its bungalows, semis and seafront homes face salt air and wind-driven rain for a good part of the year, and west-facing elevations show it first: damp patches after storms, weathered pointing and render that has stopped shedding water.
Around Ainsdale we spend a lot of time on the outside of buildings: repointing weathered joints with the right finish for the exposure, applying breathable water repellent treatments that keep rain out of porous brick for 25 years, and repairing or renewing render properly rather than patching over cracks. Inside, condensation in well-sealed bungalows is the other regular, and a quiet PIV unit running from about 1p a day usually ends it.
We are minutes away in Southport. The advice is honest, and if the fix is small we will tell you so.
