Inside a damp proofing job

Stage one
Salt damaged plaster comes off

Contaminated plaster is hacked back to sound brickwork and bagged up, so the wall can dry and the new work has something solid to go onto.
Stage two
A new damp proof course goes in

Damp proofing cream is injected into the mortar bed at low level, where it spreads through the brickwork and cures to form a new damp proof course.
Stage three
Membrane where the wall needs it

Where a wall needs isolating, a dimpled damp proof membrane is mechanically fixed to it before any plaster goes back on.
Stage four
Replastered, ready to decorate

The room finished in fresh plaster up to the old line, swept out and handed back ready for the decorator.
