Causes of Damp

Rising Damp is when water breaches the original damp course and rises up the wall by capillary action.

Condensation is the process that induces water vapour in the air to turn to liquid. When moisture forms on a wall, mould feeds on the moisture and grows.

Water ingress in  your home can come from a number of sources, including leaking roofs, broken or block gutters, holes in walls/poor mortar joints, leaking drains and failed window frames, to name a few.

Leaking pipe work from bathrooms, kitchens, and central heating systems can cause damp issues within your home if they are not taken care of.
